I only had it for 5 months and Sport Co the retailer & Easton the manufacturer both refused to back up the product. You are way better off with the Jugs collapsable L screen. Much sturdier unit that will last much longer.

Jugs Instant Backstop Review

(More customer reviews)In general, I'm a Jugs fan; this net was bought to serve as a backstop for a Jugs pitching machine. I have had a good experience with Jugs' smaller (& more popular) "instant backstop" net. Unlike that smaller net, however, this one is by no means "instant".

Basically, it requires assembling a series of metal/plastic rods & inserting them through the edges of the net to serve as a framework. Additionally, you then have to anchor the net very well for it to be stable. I used mine outdoors & ended up having to use large stakes; Jugs does provide suction cups for a similar purpose for indoor use. In any event, I subtract part of a star on this point, because from the advertisements on this backstop, you'd think it was more "pop-n-go" (like the smaller net) & it is not, by any means. Practically speaking, that meant I had to leave the net outside, or else all our practice time would have been spent re-assembling/de-assembling it.

Once the net was set up, it served our purposes fairly well. It is quite big & hence allowed a lot of flexibility for catcher's drills with my kids. The netting was sturdy, as it took machine-pitched baseballs without any noticeable damage. One annoying feature is that the netting hangs down in the way of the catcher & I had to use twine to tie it back in many places before we could use the entire space within the netting for practice.

My main problem with this backstop is durability; essentially, the backstop fell apart after <3 months continuous outdoor use (spring & summer weather). During a recent rainstorm, we noticed the backstop had fallen to the ground; two defects were noted. The supporting rods had broken in several places. Also, (& this is what really irritates me), there are several ~ 1" thick canvas straps used for anchoring this backstop; upon inspection, these straps (originally robust) had turned to the consistency of paper. For example, I could pull them apart at will anywhere using my bare hands. The combination of these 2 defects has rendered the backstop useless & costs this product >2 stars. Perhaps things would have been different if we hadn't left it outside; however (& as above) the backstop is deceptively marketed as being "instant" when it is not, so leaving it outdoors was my only realistic option if it were to be used regularly.

Since I don't plan to buy 2 or 3 of these per year, I'll end up buying another of the smaller Jugs backstops, which really are "instant". In theory, I should withhold business from Jugs for my experience above, but I do enjoy many of their other products.

(More customer reviews)This product is being falsely advertised.It is not sold together.I received the unit but not the net and only after I inquired as to why I did not receive the net was informed that it did not come as a package (as advertised above).So you will need to purchase the net seperately.If you are lead by the title and the picture you will be mislead as I was.I have decide to return the unit and will purchase elsewhere at a cheaper per unit price.I found the unit cheaper from another company.I offered to purchase the net at the matching price of the other company on Amazon (Pro Performance 69.95 for the unit and 42.99 for the net) which they were not willing to match.I understand that there can be a mistake but I will not pay 15% more for a product that was misrepresented.

Rawlings Pop Up Net Review

(More customer reviews)This is my second pop-up and the result is the same.It goes up beutifully out of the box but good luck trying to get it folded up again.They just don't fold up, despite the instructions they give you.And then you end up with a net that's bent out of shape when you use it again.It's just not worth it.For the price they charge, go with a regular net.It might take a few more minutes to set up but its well worth it when practice is over, and the storage will be the same.These pop-ups mught look good on a commercial but just don't work in real life.

(More customer reviews)This was a late birthday gift decision and was concerned whether it would arrive on time.The gift did arrive when the vendor said it would...and it was standard shipping.I would purchase again from this company.As for the product we are very happy with it.It is big enough for those occasional errant throws or hits.I can not comment on it durability because we have only had it a short time.However the product does seem to be made well.We do not leave it up all the time so we will see how it does being assembled and taken down each week.How easy it is to put the thing together?It can be challenging for one person.Two is ideal but even with one it only takes 15 minutes to setup.

The Net Return Pro Series Multi Sport Net Review

(More customer reviews)This product works exactly as advertised. I have it set up in my garage that has a 9' ceiling and I can hit every club from lob wedge through driver. I just bought the net and got the turf from a local Synlawn dealer. The amazing thing is how the net returns the ball to your hitting position. This is great for trying to create muscle memory. From the time you hit a shot until the ball is back ready to be hit again is about 2 or 3 seconds. If you are hitting at the rate of a shot every 5 to 10 seconds you can work through your whole bag very quickly. I have found that I typically don't even have to bend over to position the ball. My process is to setup, hit, analyze, setup and hit again. I would guess this process happens every 8 to 10 seconds. All with one ball. This is a great aid for trying little tweaks to your swing because the feedback is so quick. Of course you can't see the actual ball flight, but there is enough feedback by watching where the ball hits the net(follow the ball) and by the fact that a ball with a hook spin will come back to you slightly to the right of the centerline, and a slice spin will be returned to the left.

Before I bought this net, I was shooting around 100. My goal was to be able to break 80 by the end of the summer. Less than one month after receiving the net, I have already broken 90 and am consistently shooting in the mid 80's. I have used this net nearly every day. It's great to be able to watch a golf instruction show like the Golf Fix on the Golf Channel and then go out to the garage and try out some new drill. I was not sure that it was worth spending the extra money for this net when you can buy nets at the local golf store for a fraction of the price. I am so glad I spent the money. I was planning to use this both outside on a large wooden deck and in the garage. It assembled just as advertised. In the month that I have had it, I have not moved it outside. It is so convenient having it in the garage that I just leave it set up all the time so I can hit balls whenever the mood strikes me.

If you are contemplating buying a cheaper net, don't do it. Buy this net and you won't regret it.

Easton 7-Foot Pop-Up Catch Net Review

(More customer reviews)Another coach I worked with used one of these.I liked it, so I bought my own.I'm past the half-way mark on the second season of using this with a Little League team, and I'm very happy with it.

Like with other "pop-up" type products, there's a trick to getting it to fold up.I've found it works best if you lay it on the ground, then fold the bottom-left corner up to the top-right.Two loops form to the sides.Grab those, and gently guide them back into a circle.

If you force it, you can twist the bars inside, and undoing that could be a hassle.But, done right, it folds up fast.I use this for soft-toss in the outfield right before a game, and I can fold it up and get it into the bag in about a minute.

The only downside I have noticed, which is why this gets 4 stars and not 5, is that the zipper on the bag on both models I've seen has broken.It's not that big of a deal, because the bag comes with velcro straps to close it up, which work good enough.

I now keep this net in the trunk of my car, and use it at every practice and game - I've probably used it over 100 times.Recommended.

The strap broke the second time I set up the net so I was left with a bunch of small untethered sticks. The third time I set it up (after carfully inserting the separate sticks) the netting ripped.
