GoFit Weighted Vest Review

GoFit Weighted Vest
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I am a pretty serious runner, averaging at least 40 miles a week (I've run two marathons) and I also do Hatha Yoga daily (with some unique modifications to make it more difficult).Formerly, I was a serious weightlifter. This information is provided to understand my review.
Most recommendations for first time weight vest runners is to start with about 2.5% above your weight for the vest.Clearly, this recommendation is to fend off litigous people who don't understand the increased difficulty when running with a weight vest and then have a problem and blame the manufacturer.I weigh about 150 lbs., and it is perfect for me.
I started with several easy five to six milers.During the run, I immediately noticed the effects after starting one route for my run which starts with a large incline.I would not recommend that.Rather, warm up slightly longer to get both your breathing and body used to the weight. Also, PLEASE be careful as the inevitable problems outdoor runners experience, i.e., rocks, curbs, or uneven sidewalks can be much more dangereous.Your achilles/ankle area will be very sensitive and any trip or loss of balance could be dangereous.Of course, I ran at a slower pace than I usually do, but overall found the normal run to be perfect with the weight vest.I stretched and did Yoga afterwards and I would certainly recommend you stretch afterwards, too.The next day, I did feel sore, but in a good, "long run of the week" way.I did not experience any pain. After several "normal" runs with the vest, I embarked on my twice weekly hill training session. It was AWESOME.Climbing the long hill that I normally do repeats on was intense.Going down the same hill was challenging as well.PLEASE be careful when going down a hill with the vest; you'll definitely notice a big difference on the impact on your body.
Going down hills is where I experienced my only complaint about the vest:for those who are thin, it is a little loose in the rib cage area.It doesn't bounce around on the waist at all where the straps are.It just could use an additional strap in the rib cage area.Women may notice this even more.
Overall, I absolutely love this vest.It doesn't require you to add the weights and is easy to wear. Also, the price is fantastic.
Finally, PLEASE be careful and be fit before you start running with this vest.KNOW YOUR LIMITS, please.Beginning by walking would probably be wise.
It will be a great addition to your training sessions.

K2 Moto 84 Mens Inline Skates Review

K2 Moto 84 Mens Inline Skates
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Ive owned or used several brands /pairs of inline skates over the years. It had been about 3-4 years since I was on skates when I decided to take an afternoon out with friends to skate a local bike/walk/skate path. I wore these K2 Moto84's which were borrowed from a friend. I've always liked the K2 softboots as they are breathable and comfortable and these were no exception. The trip was about 6+ miles and my feet never felt uncomfortable. The skates are surprisingly lightweight, probably due to the softboot and lightwieght aluminum frame. Wheels and bearings were very smooth and quiet. Not the fastest ride Ive ever had, but very very good for sure. The boot is extremely comfortable and the speed lacing system is just awesome. No more tying laces, or re-tying when they inevitably come undone. This makes for very quick times when putting on and taking off your skates. Overall, this is a terrific skate and I'd certainly recommend it.

One thing to note...
The fit of this skate is a "true fit", which means you should order the same size as your sneaker. If you use Rollerblade brand (or Roller Derby), you should know that K2 runs slightly slimmer in the foot than RB and RD. Those brands have a slightly wider foot fitment.

Enjoy !

TKO 509RMB Rubberized Medicine Ball 12 lbs Review

TKO 509RMB Rubberized Medicine Ball 12 lbs
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Although I was surprised at how big this medicine ball is - at 11" in diameter, it's larger than a basketball - I'm still very happy with it. It seems well made, with a lightly textured surface that's easy to hang on to without being too abrasive. Part of what makes a medicine ball such an effective exercise tool is the effort it takes to hang on to it and manipulate the bulk of the thing, and the larger size of this ball requires a nice level of exertion to move it around and control it.

When I bought this TKO 12-pound ball, I also ordered a Valeo 8-pound ball, which has some distinct differences. The Valeo was much smaller, at 8.5" in diameter, and the texturing is much deeper, making it easier to grip. I checked the specs on a 12-pound Valeo ball, and it's only 9.5" in diameter. I couldn't find any specs on the TKO, and frankly I had expected it to be about the same size as the Valeo, so when it arrived I was worried that I wouldn't enjoy working with such a large medicine ball.

But as I state in my review of the Valeo ball, I ended up being glad that I got this combination. The larger size of the TKO makes it harder to handle - which is a good thing, because it makes it more of a workout to manipulate it. For exercises like the squat press or medicine-ball curl, I prefer the larger size of the TKO ball, while for exercises more focused on range-of-motion, the smaller Valeo ball is a great tool. All in all, I'm glad I ended up with the combination of one smaller, lighter medicine ball and one bulkier, heavier medicine ball. If you're considering a pair of these, this might be an option to explore. They both seem equally well made, despite their differences.

If you're just looking for a smaller, easy-to-handle ball, go with the Valeo. But if you're looking for the old-school bulk and feel of a big heavy medicine ball, the TKO is an excellent choice.

I've had two GoFit yoga balls in a row and both have exploded after moderate use.The first time, the bottom ruptured on a seam but the ball deflated slowly so I had time to prevent a fall. The second time, I was just sitting on the ball in lotus position when the entire ball came apart under me and caused a painful fall.

For the record, I'm 5'11" and 195 pounds.

K2 Moto 90 Mens Inline Skates Review

K2 Moto 90 Mens Inline Skates
Average Reviews:

I purchased these skates at the age of 54 to learn to roller blade. I used to ice skate at an average level and ski at an advanced level several years ago. Although they were not reccomended for beginner skaters I was up and going in about 15 minutes doing the bare basics. Very happy to purchase protective wear tho, already saved myself a wrist and an elbow injury.
That said these skates are great, fit perfectly, (size 10 was size 10) no excess movement in the frame, built quite well compared to others I looked at. Interestingly enough, they were actually better than the smaller wheeled skates reccomended for beginners with better bearings, frames and boots as well as better pricing than the lesser quality ones. I went blading over relatively coarse concrete and they rolled well and yet gripped the pavement well. I was pleasantly amazed. The only issue was they came in white with blue trim instead of the picture shown which was gray and red. I just got a helmet to match the protective wear non gloss black and they are just fine, I could care less about the color. I would reccomend these to beginning skaters who are slightly heavy and have skated or skied before. Very sturdy yet comfortable and light on the feet. Get protective wear tho esp wrist pads. I wish I would have tried this years ago. These beat the four wheel ones I learned to skate on back in the skating rink days when it was two + two rather than 4 in-line.

I got those roller blades because my old once finally broke I normally wear size 11.5 and ordered those at size 12 and they where perfect. They are the best pair of skates I have ever owned. They are very fast and feel strong. The price on Amazon is amazing just make sure you order ½ size bigger then your shoes size and you are good to go. I did about 12 miles on them yesterday and there was no problem what so ever with the skates and oh yeah I'm 240 lbs because I weight lift and the skates had no problem holding me.

This might be my 5th pair of K2 skates in some 15 - 18 years. This is my 1st time on 90mm wheels. Very fast and not too difficult to get used to the extra height increase. In the begining and once when I couldn't find any lace up K2's I tried some other brands. Both times ended up with broken skates and returning to K2. I appreciate the extra durability. I do have a narrow foot for a guy and have bought womens shates a couple times. I skate year round. Good Stuff thanks guys!

Aqua Power Wrist Swim Weights Review

Aqua Power Wrist Swim Weights
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I used the ankle version of these all summer long for swimming and they were great. No injury of any sort while using them. However I used dumbbells when I worked on my arms.Big mistake.Because after a summer of swimming every day for an hour or more, I had a rotator cuff problem in my shoulder. So I stopped using the dumbbells, bought these wrist weights and began swimming with them. They work great and now I swim with both the ankle and wrist weights and get tremendous resistance with my swimming, the only thing the swimming experience lacks if you swim without using equipment. I could feel the pain in my neck and along my spine when I used the water dumbbells but, like an idiot, I ignored it.I have noticed no pain when I use these wrist weights instead. One added plus: if you use webbed gloves, and I do, you can continue wearing them with these wrist weights.

great product! i bought the pack of 6 from 150 to 350 and i was very happy with the purchase. after several weeks of use, i think the springs lose some of the tension. either that or your grip gets stronger! i suggest not buying the trainer and going straight to the 150. i was able to close the 200 after about 2 weeks of training and now have conquered the 250. good luck!

TKO 509RMB Rubberized Medicine Ball 15 lbs Review

TKO 509RMB Rubberized Medicine Ball 15 lbs
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I had an eight pound medicine ball that I played with while watching TV. I reached the point where I could palm it, hold it out straightto the side with my shoulder and toss and catch it with one hand and decided to get a heavier one. The eight pound one was squishy, felt like it had sand inside and mailable. It was also a different brand from this one but I had the notion that they were all that way.

The TKO 15 pound medicine ball is significantly larger, more than three times larger, than my old eight pound ball. It's about one-and-a-quarter times bigger than a standard men's basketball. It's also extremely rigid, having no give at all. It's definitely heavy enough and I can still fiddle around with it while I watch TV but as medicine balls go I have a hard time understanding why something that weighs less than twice what I already had needs to be three or four times bigger than what I already had.

It's a fine ball. I simply wish it were mailable and a bit smaller. This one feels like I'm tossing a big rock around.

This is a really nice medicine ball at a reasonable price. It's about the size of a soccer ball (some medicine balls are much smaller) and easy to grip. It also has a lifetime guarantee.

I bought one at Meijers for the same price and the material they used scratched very easily and discolored. This one is much better.

I'm 54 and have lifted weights since I was 19.I knew a guy who had one of these and remembered seeing them advertised in the comic books of my youth.I was curious as to whether they worked or not. They do.

When I got the device, I could barely do one rep, and I can do 200lbs on the pec chest machine at the gym.In using it for about 3 weeks twice a day, I am now doing two sets of 20 reps twice a day.My chest is fuller and my poundage on the pec machine has increased by 40 lbs too.
If you get one, try varying the positon of your hands.Low down for middle and lower chest, and up high in front of your face, for upper chest to deltoid tie in.It will build your arms and shoulders as well as it is very much a compound exercise.

Cathe 2 LB Weighted Gloves w/DVD Review

The gloves are a wonderful addition to working out however, these gloves do not cover over the palm, so they really aren't gloves.Due to the design, the weight sort of pulls on the back of the hand and wrist.Since it is really only 1 pound per a glove, that pull/tug isn't all that bad, and you still have to wear a pair of regular weight gloves underneath it when doing weights. Oh and the dvd, isn't really a workout dvd, it shows different exercises but that's about it. It's definitely a good product, it just need tweaking.

I bought this from YOU GOT A DEAL, but was shipped a completely different item. YOU GOT A DEAL blamed the problem on Amazon.
So while the description and picture of this item sounds great, especially the part about it being metal, I can only tell you about the product I got...which the upright part was metal, but the legs that sit on the ground were black plastic.
Good luck.
