(More customer reviews)I was somewhat apprehensive about this net.Unbiased reviews were very scarce and it is a very different system that what I have played on before.So I am happy to pass on my thoughts to others.
The equipment is all top quality.Poles, stakes, padding carry bag, laminated instructions, all very impressive.The net was a bit lighter than I would have preferred, though it is probably heavier on the higher priced Cobra net.
Setup was easy and pretty simple.My only problem was there are no instructions anywhere with the net, or at their web site on how to set up the net for Mens vs. Womens height.Surprisingly there also wasn't even a copy of the setup instructions on their web site.I eventually figured it out on my own, and they did return my after-hours phone call the next day.I still found it a bit low, but I found I could slide the pole up a few inches on the big ground stake and it would stay.I went with this net because of the no guy wires so that I didn't have to mow around them all year and it worked out well.Also it has been relatively easy to pound in or pull out the stakes the few times I have set up and taken down the net.
Play - I am used to playing on an indoor tight net or a Park and Sun competition net which is also very tight.This net has a very different feel, as I imagine all the nets with stretchy connectors do.The net is pretty easy to get flat and "tight".You can really play the ball off the net, although it is hard for me to get used to since it tends to really rebound it back at you.The Fiberglass poles may add to this rebound effect, but I think most of it comes from the Bungee cords at the bottom of the net.
Overall - I am happy with the net and would purchase it again.For our use the extra money for the competition Cobra net wasn't necessary.Although my girls play competitive club ball, when they play outside they are mostly having fun.Plus I wouldn't imagine the heavier gauge net, poles etc would make much difference in the feel of the net.Everything feels well made and like it will last.The net will probably be the first thing to wear out and it is replaceable.I really like the guy-wire free setup - not so much for safety while playing since I am used to having them there - but for not having to mow around them and trip over them in every day use of the back yard.
